Here are a few styles that will give your closet the freshness and vibrancy it deserves this Spring 2020 and throughout the new year!

Puffy Sleeves

Not to be confused with the puffy shirt for those of you that are Seinfeld buffs. For the romantic at heart, voluminous, dramatic sleeves dominated the runways for this spring. Of course Carolina Herrera one of my favorite designers had quite a few puffy sleeve looks. When you need some extra oomph, go for the dramatic sleeve.

Polka Dots

My love affair with polka dots has always been strong. I even have a Pinterest board specifically devoted to my love of polka dots. Polka Dots have a long history in women's fashion.

Christian Dior used polka dots in his seminal New Look collection, in what Vogue reported was a “direct, unblushing plan to make women extravagantly, romantically, eyelash-battingly female”. It worked, as the polka dot dress was Dior’s best-selling New Look piece in 1954. Hollywood royalty quickly fell for the print with the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Lucille Ball and Marilyn Monroe forming its A-list fan base (

So its no surprise to see that designers like Balenciaga, Balmain, and Dries Van Noten had the polka dots strutting the catwalk for spring 2020.

Women's Maxi Pencil Jean Skirt Amazon

Say bye to your jean mini for now. Runways brought back the longer denim skirt from the ’90s and early aughts just in time for the new decade, as seen at Celine, Marques Almeida, and Stella McCartney. The perfect length for the colder temps! check out this great find from Amazon Fashion

Pretty Pleats

Pleats came in hot this season, shown at Pyer Moss, Iseey Miyake, Christopher John Rogers, and Chloe.  I remember growing up in the late 70's and early 80's seeing my mom in the pleated plaid skirts baking in the kitchen during the fall months and silky spring dresses in spring.

All things good come around again!! Wait for all the "OMG" comments to roll in in asking "where did you get that!

Everything from buttercup yellow the pale pastel yellow to saffron, the vivid shade of orangey-yellow was showcased on the runways for spring. It's a color of optimism and happiness. If your ready to sport the look at me now color why not sport it head to toe!

Bermuda Shorts

Hello, Bermuda shorts! This style of shorts you will want to wear all the time. They’re essentially the comfy boyfriend-fit of the world of the short.  Bermuda shorts can even be office-friendly. The print of these shorts makes them office-appropriate...and also so on-trend. Not to mention affordable from Zara.

There are quite a few more favs for the 2020 Spring line up like two tones, year-round leather, billowy dresses, and your basic cardi to name a few. But I have decided to close out this blog with my last 4 obsessions. (pictures left to right)

The roomy blazer, yes its been here a while but there is nothing classier than a double-breasted blazer. It's perfect for all facets of life, from work to a night on the town. This blazer can be found at TopShop.

The trouser pant is back in a big way for 2o2o. Show everyone you mean business with this grown-up pant. Ladies everyone needs a great pair of black trousers.

The best part about jumpsuits is that all the work that goes into planning an outfit is already done for you. Brands like Zimmermann, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Jonathan Simkhai, and many others made our lives so much easier with these one-stop-shop looks for 2020. Work smarter, not harder, in the coming year(Cosmopolitan).

This year, bras are meant to be SEEN. Givenchy, Dion Lee, Courreges, and Maryam Nassir Zadeh showed bra tops on the runway. Whether you're pairing it with Bermuda shorts or pair of jeans.

So there you have it. My take on some of the must-haves for 2020. Happy shopping gals! Xo
